Microsoft and ASUS show off all the stylish stylus action you can have on an Eee Slate (video)

It's the year 2011, but it might as well be 2001. The company that Bill built is still going strong in the pursuit of its founding father's dream: a pen-based tablet computer. The latest, and perhaps best, exhibitor of this ideal is ASUS' Eee Slate, a 12.1-inch, Core i5-equipped Windows 7 tablet that comes with a Wacom digitizer and a dedicated silo in its side for accommodating that snow-white stylus. A Bluetooth keyboard also comes in the box, leading Microsoft to describe it as a device that's simultaneously "very PC" and "not very PC." To understand what the Redmond brainboxes mean by this apparent case of doublethink, make your way past the break and soak up all the video action.

Love the product...not so much on the commercials. I'm not sure "Rabi" is the person you want selling your product. And did the fashion blogger actually say "I'm cool because I don't have to take around my laptop" ??? Wow...

You make fun, but for folks looking for the 64gig version, the stock has been selling out. If you follow along in the ASUS tablet forums you would see that there are many people monitoring Amazon and the Microsoft Store waiting for this thing to come back in stock. Here in Canada BestBuy finally got some more stock after selling out the 64gig version. I suspect they won't last a week before it's sold out again.

So however many they sell it will only help to push the tablet/slate devices forward and if you're a tablet fan you should be happy ASUS is at least trying.
