Droid X 2 Specs And Photos Leak

The Droid X 2 might be nearing its official announcement. The successor to Moto’s first supersize phone is at least alive and well according to a forum post at The MobiZone where a bunch of pics and specs were posted. The post has since been pulled, but thanks to the wonders of the cache, the info survived for your enjoyment.

  • NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • QHD LCD Display – 540 x 960 Resolution (Same as Motorola Bionic)
  • 3G Only – No LTE/4G
  • 8MP Rear Facing Camera (No Front Cam)
  • Froyo (Android 2.2) – Could get Gingerbread (Adnroid 2.3) before launch
  • New Moto Blur (Same as Droid Bionic)
  • FM Radio
  • Locked/Encrypted BootLoader
  • Launch in Q2 of 2011
  • No Hardware Camera button
Sounds great, right? The dual-core CPU, high-res screen and the same UI as the Droid Bionic. Well, Engadget apprently dug up slightly different specs that puts the Droid X 2 at a slightly lower tier with a 1.2GHz single-core CPU, 768MB of RAM and 4.3-inch WVGA (854 x 480) display. Either way, it seems the Bionic is set to live as Motorola’s top VZW offering with the Droid X 2 hitting slightly below it.

  1. Lol – the wonders of cache. I’ll have to save the cache of this page too in case it gets pulled :)

Nice photo – doesn’t look like anything radically new or earth shattering, but nice to see it nonetheless.

  2. By the looks of it, this is going to be a nice phone. I could already see one flaw that could be improved though and that is that it has no front camera. For a big tablet phone like this, surely there was space for a camera in the front.

  3. Not having a front camera is a let down. Why havent they included a hardware camera button for easy access thats what the camera is for “taking pics of those unexpected moments”. Mabey the next Droid will have to include a hardware button

  5. I will just upgrade my original X for the Bionic instead. X2 has some bells and whistles, but not that impressive to set itself apart from the new Thunderbolt from HTC or the Bionic. Only way I get the X2 if it was 4G/ LTE.

  6. After reviewing its feature and specs i found that it will be perfect gift to my dad anniversary. Although it doesn’t have front camera but it’s OK no problem.
